What is Covered Under Medicare Part B?

Medicare is made up of different parts, and understanding what each one does can help you get the most out of your healthcare benefits. At Temecula Medical Group, we want to ensure you feel confident when it comes to your Medicare coverage—starting with Medicare Part B.

In this post, we’re covering the basics of Medicare Part B, what it includes, and how it fits into your overall care.

What Is Medicare Part B?

Medicare Part B is known as “medical insurance.” It helps cover the services and supplies you need to stay healthy or treat a condition—most of which happen outside the hospital.

While Medicare Part A covers hospital stays, Part B takes care of your everyday healthcare needs, like doctor visits, lab tests, and preventive care.

Unlike Part A, Part B usually comes with a monthly premium, which may vary based on your income.

What Does Medicare Part B Cover?

Here’s what you can expect Medicare Part B to help pay for:

1. Doctor Visits & Outpatient Care

2. Preventive Services

Tip from Temecula Medical Group: Preventive care is one of the most powerful tools for staying healthy. Medicare Part B covers many of these services at no cost to you if you see a provider who accepts assignment.

3. Diagnostic Tests and Lab Work

4. Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

5. Mental Health Services

6. Outpatient Therapies

What’s Not Covered Under Medicare Part B?

Part B doesn’t cover everything. Here are some things to keep in mind:

How Does Part B Work With Your Care at Temecula Medical Group?

If you’re a Medicare patient, most of your primary care visits, lab tests, and preventive screenings at Temecula Medical Group will fall under Medicare Part B. We accept Medicare and can help you understand which services are covered and what, if any, out-of-pocket costs you might expect.
